A private mood journal that notices your patterns

What didn’t do you good today?

Other apps ask “what did you do?” Moodella also notes what you put off and what weighed on you, without the guilt and in two minutes, and gives the patterns back to you in a few short sentences.

How it works

Coming to Android first, then to iPhone.

  • Stays on your phone
  • No account
  • No broken streaks

Five small questions each evening. Two minutes in all.

  1. 01

    How you felt, what helped

Pick your mood with a face, then mark the feelings that stood out and the small things that did you good.

  2. 02

    What didn’t do you good

Shadow tracking: two separate questions — what didn’t do you good, and what you put off. No red, no exclamation marks; just an honest list.

    Your daily reading

Moodella looks at your recent days and writes a few short parts: where today sits, what your days show, and a small invitation. Not a diagnosis; a pattern.

What didn’t do you good says something too. We’re just listening.

Two separate steps in the flow: what didn’t do you good (bad sleep, a headache, heartbreak) and what you put off. Putting things off is rarely laziness; more often it’s tiredness, worry or uncertainty. Put both next to your mood and the pattern shows itself.

  • No penalties: no broken streaks, no empty rings, no “failed”.
  • “Nothing like that today” is an answer too.
  • What you note here gets an apricot mark, not a warning.

A sentence, not a chart. An invitation, not advice.

Today’s reading is a few short parts: where today sits among your recent days, one or two things your days show, and a small invitation for tomorrow. “I’ll try this” or “Not today”: both are valid answers.

No therapist clichés, no self-help jargon.

Today was a good day, your third good day in a row. When a walk helped, the day goes better; that held four of the five times.

  • An honest reading

An observation and an invitation. No diagnosis.A few short parts, then a small invitation. It doesn’t diagnose, and it doesn’t talk like a therapist.

Questions

Is it a mood tracker?
Partly. Mood is the context; the real question is what didn’t do you good today. The pattern appears where the two meet.
What if I don’t log a day?
Nothing happens. An empty day is simply empty: no broken streaks, no penalties, no barrage of reminders. If it was yesterday, you can still add it today; an earlier day stays empty.
Where is my data?
On your phone. Everything you write is stored and processed only there, and none of it reaches us. If you turn on backup, a copy goes to your own Google account, which we can’t read. You can export your journal to a file or delete it at any time. The Privacy Policy has the details.
What if I lose my phone?
Your journal comes back from your backup. Android’s device backup and Moodella’s Google Drive backup both keep a copy in your own Google account. On a new phone, choose that backup while you set it up, or restore it in the app from Drive or from a file. Without a backup we can’t bring it back either: we never had it.
Does the app talk to your server?
Only to download a small file of notices and settings, the same for everyone. The request carries nothing about you, and never your journal. The app works without it.
Is Moodella a medical app?
No. Moodella is a journal, not a medical or health service, and it doesn’t diagnose anything. If you write certain words, the app shows helplines.
When can I get it?
Moodella is coming to Android first, then to iPhone. Once it’s in a store, the buttons on this page take you straight there.
